“Hi guys I'm Stephanie young and I'm the founder of GirlFlix. We're so super excited for me and the crew to be coming and joining you at the Out & Wild Festival this year in June where you'll find us at the bar hub meet and greet venue, Friday and Saturday night 7-10.30pm. So what is GirlFlix? We are a little community of lesbian and queer women that came together two years ago and put on events creating safe spaces for other women, like me, to come and connect and have fun, party, make friends and fall in love. As soon as I saw the Out & Wild Festival I was like ‘That's the kind of festival I wanna be involved in’. With the same ethos of bringing people in our community together. I can't wait to be a part of it, for myself to enjoy the time there with live music, comedians, paddle boarding, workshops, silent disco… it’s going to be such a great weekend! From GirlFlix you're gonna hear a selection of my DJ's; DJ Lola, the S2K, Auri and myself AKA Papercut Tiger. Over the seven hours of DJ you can expect to hear some 80s R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, going into some Funky House and some classic UK Garage. On the Saturday night you're gonna get Ibiza classics, vocal House and finishing up with a bit of Melodic Trace. West Sussex's only 'Women for Women' centred club night at our most glamorous venue, The Melon Bar, Worthing 4 amazing female DJs PLUS a wonderful and very talented soul singer: • 7.30pm: DJ Tor Lloyd will be warming up the crowd with some beats for the soul. Get your groove on to a classic mix of 80s soul & 90’s hip hop + R'n'B. A great way to start off the evening so arrive early and don't miss out! • 9pm: Eden - Perform a spectacular set of R&B and soulful songs with her jazzy vocals. She is a proud female, mixed race and queer South Coast musician/singer/songwriter. She’ll be playing original music as well as covers (do sing along!). Eden is inspired by tunes of the past with modern twists, so you’ll be swaying and slow-grooving to the vibe. • 9.30pm: DJ S2K - Bringing a mix of 80’s 90’s grooves and dance floor bangers. She has quickly become a legend within the GirlFlix community with her energy, positive heart and enthusiasm to live life to the full. • 10.30pm: Just Rhi - Next you will hear an upbeat, vocal house set from Just Rhi. You can guarantee that she will be turning up the heat with a selection of tunes you won't be able to ignore for the dance floor. • 11.30pm: DJ Queenie - What better way to put a cherry on top of the evening, than the legendary DJ Queenie, formally known as Queen Josephine! Leaving the smog of Brighton behind for the night, this is the 2nd appearance from Queenie at GirlFlix. The crowd loved her set last time and we are sure yet again the crowd will stay until the final tune ends as she brings her diva-fueled disco house grooves to Worthing's finest Women for Women's club night ............................ You deserve more than just a square box with a few flashing lights and a DJ playing tunes from a Spotify list. #GirlFlixClub was created to break free from the dull, drab, warm beer nights out ,and to breathe rainbow beams into your life and have some full technicolour fun! The Melon Bar is a spectacular venue. With art deco vibes, cascading flora and a spiralling staircase, you will feel kissed as soon as you walk over the threshold. Pimp up your drink with a selection of glamorous cocktails and mocktails, lots of sensual spirits, cold beers and sexy zero alcohol choices. Once inside we really are going to spoil you with not one, not two but four DJs playing a variety of tunes from soul, R&B, 80/90s, Vocal house, and Disco-diva inspired tunes. We like to mix it up and keep the night interesting. ‘WOW’ I hear you cry. ‘This really is more than just a disco…’ But wait that is not all!!!
